Raffa Yoga 101 starts with foundational techniques designed to keep the body safe and build strength while practicing yoga (asana) postures. This class is ideal for those who are new to yoga or power yoga or advanced practitioners that want to strengthen their practice. Basic postures and sequences are taught to ensure correct alignment and safety. Students will learn to participate at a healthy level based on their unique needs. This class is designed to teach the tools necessary to build a long-term, healthy yoga practice. This class is the class for you if you are new to yoga, curious about yoga or want to brush up on alignment in asana, this is the class for you!

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Raffa Restorative Yoga is a non-vigorous deeply calming practice. It uses blankets, bolsters, pillows and various props to completely support the body in basic yoga postures with no muscular effort. Through these supported positions, we are able to relax, slow the breath and slow the mind, initiating the “Relaxation Response."  Through relaxation, the organs and glands are saturated with a fresh supply of oxygen and blood, leading to renewal and revitalization at a cellular level. Come Rest, Relax & Breath with this gentle yoga class.

YIN YOGA

Raffa Yin Yoga is style of yoga, where the poses are held for longer periods of time (3-5 minutes). Yin Yoga applies moderate stress to the connective tissues, tendons, fascia and ligaments of the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, while improving flexibility and inner body awareness. A more meditative approach to yoga, Yin Yoga aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence, insight and inquiry of the self and an interconnecting quality of mind, body and spirit. Raffa Yin Yoga is part of our Subtle Body yoga experience. 

YOGA STRETCH

 This 75 minute non-vigorous floor based class focuses on passive stretching, longer holds and the assistance of props, bolsters and blankets. This unique style of yoga promotes healthy joints, good digestion and clarity of mind.

THERAPEUTIC SOMATIC MOVEMENT

Raffa Therapeutic Somatic Movement is a non-vigorous floor based class focusing on sensory motor muscular re-patterning. In this class learn to gain awareness of sensation and motor control using a safe, gentle common sense approach to reverse chronically tight muscles that develop in common chronic muscular conditions.This process of sensory motor training moves the body so the neuroplasticity of the brain remembers how to relax.

Excellent class for those rehabilitating from injuries, conditions of anxiety or yoga practitioners looking to create a deeper joint space, while opening the body.

PRE-NATAL YOGA & MORE

 Gestational Yoga, From Conception to Delivery is a class designed to improve the fitness level of pregnant women, preparing their bodies for the final labor experience. The premise is that a fit pregnacy will improve the overall pregnancy and labor experience and will reduce pregnancy related complications. The class will include mild flow, but will emphasize getting into the problem areas of the body that are taxed in pregnancy which include the back, hips, groin and hamstrings through a process of stretching and elongating muscles and connective tissues. The practice will also emphasize the liberal use of props to include blocks, straps, blankets and chairs. 

CANDLELIGHT VINYASA WITH DEEP RELAXATION

 This class combines elements of vinyasa, yin and restorative to create an invigorating, relaxing and deeply restoring experience. We will begin class with a restorative posture to ground and settle. Then we will spend time moving through flowing lunar sequences linked with breath to warm and loosen the outer layers of the body. The final portion of class will offer a few yin poses (deep stretching which targets the tissues and fascia of the body) and then finish with a purely restorative and supportive ending, prepping the body for a blissful extended savasana. This class will provide the opportunity for students to bring balance to their bodies and practice through three very different but complementary styles.

RAFFA KUNDALINI YOGA

 Kundalini Yoga uses movement, sound current, breath and meditation to relax and heal your body and mind. Kundalini Yoga brings a greater sense of happiness and well-being into your life by opening your awareness and expanding your consciousness by learning to work with the energy of your body. Kundalini Yoga is a great way to recharge and heal your body quickly by stimulating the nervous and immune systems, improving strength and flexibility, balancing your mind and opening your spirit. Benefits include: relief from stress, addiction, depression & back issues, as well as help with weight loss. 

MINDFUL YOGA

 This slower moving hatha yoga class incorporates creative visualization, asana (poses), meditation and pranayama (breathing). The class is designed to encourage inquiry of self synchronized with breath, movement and an awareness to the activity of the mind. This practice encourages deep breathing, stillness and joy. 

YOGA WITH MEDITATION

 This therapeutic class is designed for those who wish to journey a bit deeper into the connective tissues of the body while balancing their practice with therapeutic assisted stretching. Years of a dedicated asana practice will make anyone healthier, stronger, and more flexible, but at some point the muscles will have reached their limit of flexibility. New depths in postures, deeper ranges of motion, or an increased flow of energy may only be achievable by focusing on the deeper tissues of the body. This class will integrate a basic flow with longer holds as well as assisted stretches to awaken every depth of your tissue. The class will end with guided meditation. No experience is necessary, start where you are! All levels are welcome so… Come experience the journey!

 This $10.00 drop-in 60 minute class is vigorous style of yoga linking breath and movement. Be prepared to challenge your edge with balance, flexibility, strength and endurance. Hour of power classes are best if you are physically active, comfortable with yoga postures and appreciate a healthy sweat.

This class is taught by instructors with less than one year teaching experience having graduated from Raffa Yoga Teacher Training Program. Suitable for those with basic fitness level. Raffa Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing sequence linking breath, movement and postures in a heated environment.

This class is designed to give you a secure and detailed understanding of AntiGravity Yoga fundamentals while having a ton of fun!

AntiGravity® Restorative Yoga is the gentle, meditative, slow stretching and rehabilitative version of AntiGravity Aerial Yoga. This powerful method focuses the mind through powerful visualizations as it floats the body through a series of gentle gyro-kinetic motions, deeply opening the entire spine, hips, and connective tissues of the body. It offers accessibility to students with physical limitations but is loved by all as a portal into deeper spinal flexibility, and mind/body connection. 

Taught in a sequential flow to music, the class incorporates levitating meditations, various forms of flowing spinal traction, joint opening poses, and a floating sivasana. Working from different hammock heights allows for the gentle opening of hips and spine.

Awesome class to stretch the body, ease into Aerial yoga, stave off anxiety, bring on quiet inspiration, calm the mind, and prepare the body for the evening or transition from a full body workout and perfect for those with a lower fitness level, or those who just like an approach that gives you time to tune in at a deep level.
